the Umdraka nation - turn 9
Summary of turn results:
Excellent results on the northern frontier. Let's start with the bandit army. First it was engaged by the scout who sacrificed himself and lost 10 men in the battle. Only three bandits were killed. But we achieved our goal and the bandit army was delayed long enough for the Umdraka Honour to arrive. The bandits didn't stand a chance and were killed to the last man. Enterion killed 5 and Krillion 4 of the 33 bandits that lost their life in the melee. 5 of our own men was lost.
Meanwhile, a little to the west, the Umdraka Glory attacked the bandit camp for the second time. 7 bandits lost their life from arrows and all the remaining 20 were easily dispatched with. Not a single Umdraka warrior lost his life.
Our galley has found new lands already…

There is no further activity down in the south. The scout from Anatulia remains but our negotiating with their leader progresses. There may be peace in the future. Our scout in the Netherworld has still found no indications of life, perhaps the dark caves are empty?
4 more plain's sectors have been improved making it a total of 12 sectors. Nero built a second galley. Archbishop Ard Korr failed to find a new heir but Ner Tark found another 6 settlers for Nero. He gained a new level in cultural influence.
The current date is still summer year 0.
Umdraka Infantry:
Unit Description for - Umdraka Infantry
The Umdraka infantry are like the roman legions, unbeatable soldiers who fear no enemy. They are, however, poor at defensive combat...
Combat Values (Offensive/Defensive/Ranged):
--> Combat ability Open: 32/12/0
--> Combat ability Forest: 20/7/0
--> Combat ability Hills: 20/7/0
--> Combat ability Corridors: 20/7/0
--> Armour strength: Average
--> Unit special ability: Melee
Non combat Values:
--> A barrack class building is required to build this unit.
--> Movement: 3
--> Initiative: 8
--> Sight range: 1
--> Weekly wages: 232
Position update:

The situation is much improved compared to earlier turns. Two bandit armies and two bandit camps have been destroyed and it will be rather easy to attack the camp to the south if needed. Good defensive units are on the way to Nero and Quon allowing us to disband the weaker militia units. The next settlement would probably be built north-west of Unta to secure that border and making Nero surrounded by friendly cities.
The food situation in Quon has improved considerably now that it can collect food from a larger region. One potential problem is the cave opening, either Umdraka will have to build a city down there to keep it secure or we will need to guard it with units at all times. Having an enemy invasion force popping up in the middle of Umdraka is not something we want to experience.
